On Tuesday, Björn Goop confirmed San Moteur will not be able to participate in the Prix D'Amérique,later this month. The Panne de Moteur son has been front and center in big races, with his most recent win in the Prix de Bourbonnais. He was the predicted favourite for the Prix D'Amérique, alongside Idao de Tillard.
San Moteur, who traveled back to Sweden after his latest win at Vincennes, has suffered an injury (splint bone fracture in his front leg) in the paddock. The operation is set to happen within the upcoming two weeks. San Moteur won't return until next year.
Trainer Björn Goop will now try to qualify the experienced Moni Viking in this year's edition of the Prix de Belgique. Moni Viking finished third in the 2021 edition.

Also appearing in the Prix de Belgique is the Swedish superstar Hail Mary.
He made his French debut in the Prix de Bourgogne, accompanied by regular driver Örjan Kihlström. After a dissapointing result, trainer Daniël Reden has chosen Sulky d'Or winner Eric Raffin to drive Hail Mary in the last qualifier for the Prix d'Amérique.

In an interview with Paris Turf, Pierre Belloche confirmed Horsy Dream will not start in the Prix de Belgique, nor the Prix d'Amérique. Horsy Dream returned in the Prix de Bourgogne after a small setback, resulting in a fifth place. Unfortunately, Belloche's star is still not fully recovered from inflammations, new treatment is required. Horsy Dream will most likely return in the Prix de France - Speed Race, before heading to Cagnes-Sur-Mer (Criterium de Vitesse de la Cote d'Azur) on March 10th.
Likewise, confirmed non-starter in the Prix de Belgique is Vivid Wise As. After catching a cold he'll skip this race and prepare for the Prix d'Amérique directly.
Etonnant, who has been suffering from a health issue before and after his trip to the United States, was treated for ulcers. The treatment has been succesful and Richard Westerink shared he might return in the Prix d'Amérique, depending on his physical fitness.
